Abstract:
The deposit of vanadium-titano magnetite tailings in China is increasing year by year, which has caused the waste of resources and hidden danger of environmental health, affecting the development of mining recycling economy, and are of urgent need of further resource utilization. In this paper, the recovery status of valuable metals from vanadium-titanium magnetite tailings is reviewed from perspectives of traditional and new methods for resource utilization. The technical bottleneck of traditional recovery methods is summarized, and the prospect of new methods, especially biological leaching method, is proposed. This paper argues that bioleading has the advantages of low energy consumption, low investment and operating costs, environmental friendliness, considerable recovery rate to many applicable metals. It is an important way to realize green-comprehensive utilization of vanadium-titano magnetite tailings in the future. At present, attention should be paid to improving its recovery efficiency to achieve large-scale promotion. This paper provides references to entities related to the utilization of vanadium and titanium mineral resources for the formation of environmental protection and cost-effective recovery strategy at a circular economy, boosting the sustainable development of mining industry.
